This book offers a great, in-depth introduction to pho and its history. Following this, the content is split into six sections: 1. Pho Manual, 2. Master Pho, 3. Adventurous Pho, 4. Pho Add-ons, 5. Stir-fried, Pan-fried pho and Deep-fried Pho & 6. Pho Sidekicks. Each section is in-depth and includes some simply stunning photography, which serves to enhance the book further.
Despite what some of the recipes might suggest, pho needs plenty of time to prepare, sometimes half-a-day or longer. However, some recipes use left-over pho as a starter, thus cutting down prep time during a future meal. Recipes include chicken, beef, lamb, seafood, vegan pho etc. plus traditional sides, accompaniments and drinks.
I would highly recommend this book, as long as you are prepared to spend some time lovingly preparing the recipes. Your efforts will be greatly rewarded with the results.
